(Light wires) Then put your canopy back together, make sure all the wires are well organized and pretty close to 6 inches long. (Fan wires) Lastly wire nut (I think it’s blue) from The receiver to the blue coming from the fan. Now wire nut the yellow from The receiver to the black from the fan. Ok no wire but the red from the ceiling to the black from the receiver. You should have a green wire attached to the collar go ahead and wire nut that to the bare copper wire coming from the ceiling. Wire but the three white wires together, one from the fan, one from the ceiling and one from the receiver. Most receiver s have one if yours has 2 let me now and I’ll walk you through that. So they do the neutrals (white wire) 2 different ways.

So now install the remote receiver, get it position into the collar with the wires all nice and organized and easy to work with. So go up to the wires coming from the ceiling, cap off the black and neatly tuck it in the back of the ceiling box. Because when I wire houses I always wire the first switch closest to the door on the red switch leg. So with the remote you now only need 1 wire in the ceiling that will give you 120v. Now since you have a remote you no longer need 2 switches (you don’t need any to be honest but that’s besides the point).
The other switch, when turned on makes the red wire have 120v when in the on position and 0 volts when off. So one of those switches when turned on makes the black wire from the ceiling have 120v, and 0 volts when the switch is off. You currently have 2 switches right next to each other.
